2011 Annual Drive Dinner Auction Winners, Artist and Art Teachers

2011 Annual Drive Dinner Auction Winners, Artist and Art Teachers

The Royse City ISD Education Foundation held its Annual Drive Dinner on October 27th and added a new twist with a Student Art Auction. The dinner is held each fall to kick off the annual fund raising drive for the Foundation and to honor our lead gift donors, who are individuals and businesses who have given $1,000 or more to the annual campaign.

This year student art was created for the event and Matt Stone, a senior debate team member at RCHS served as our auctioneer. The auction was great fun and an added money maker for the foundation and the arts classes, 60 % of the bid price will go back to the art classroom. “We hope additional district programs, such as design, woodworking, etc. will join us with projects for next year. It’s a great way for these programs to add much needed dollars to their budgets,” explained Jo Nell Mellody, Executive Director for the foundation.

The annual campaign has raised $49,277 to date, along with the employee payroll deduct campaign of $28,721, plus the $3,735 from the art auction makes a grand total of $81,858 over 80% of our $100,000 goal!

The money raised goes back to our students and staff in innovative classroom grants, student and staff recognition with our Top Dog Spectacular banquet and 30% goes into our endowment fund, because we are planning to be here in the future to support Royse City Schools. The Foundation will award our third round of innovative classroom grants in November, so be prepared RCISD teachers – the Grant Patrol might be visiting you!
